INOCU Bag Instructions
This is a ready-to-inoculate, all-in-one system. Each bag is fully sterilized and sealed before shipping.
You inoculate, then set & forget.
What You’ll Need:
-Liquid Culture (L.C.)
(for best results, use Sacred Mycelium’s Select Genetics)
-INOCU Bag
-Alcohol wipes
-Clean workspace
-(Optional) Gloves
1. Prep your space
Work in a clean, draft-free environment. Wash your hands thoroughly.
Wipe down the bag’s injection port, the L.C. syringe package, and surrounding area with alcohol.
Let everything air-dry before proceeding.
2. Prepare your syringe
Peel open the sterile needle package.
Unscrew the syringe cap and attach the needle securely.
3. Inoculate
Remove the needle cover.
Insert the needle through the self-healing injection port and inject 5–10cc of liquid culture into the center of the substrate block.
More liquid culture can speed up colonization.
If you’re using our genetics, refer to the Colonization Instructions for optimal results.
Note: Sacred Mycelium’s Select Genetics are trained and optimized for our substrate composition and bag environment.
If you inoculate with outside genetics, please understand that their growth requirements and yield will differ; colonization speed, density, or fruiting response may not align with the instructions outlined in the Colonization Stage.
Using non–Sacred Mycelium genetics voids this bag’s warranty, and results will vary.
COLONIZATION STAGE
1. Give it some air!
Do not open your bag. Gently pull the bag’s sidewalls apart — this naturally draws in a small amount of clean, fresh air through the filter patch.
The filter is designed for safe gas exchange, so no need to fan or unseal it.
2. Shape for success!
From the outside of the bag, press down lightly but firmly on the block — start at the center and work outward to the sides. This helps fill air pockets and ensures an even surface for colonization.
Keep the top surface flat and avoid over-compressing.
Send love through your hands — the mycelium feels it.
3. Set and forget…
Place your bag in a generally clean area, with indirect light.
Optimal temperature: 72–75°F (acceptable range: 60–80°F).
Avoid direct sunlight, moving the bag, or pressing on the block once shaped. Nature’s magic at work.
Perfect for:
Testing environments — use as a control for your research.
Morphology studies — observe colonization and fruiting patterns.
Taxonomy experiments — compare structural and developmental traits.
Educational research — hands-on, low-maintenance fungal exploration.
